Who we are

Beat The Bookie ("BTB", "we", "us") operates beatthebookie.pro, a tools and analytics site for Australian sports bettors (odds comparison, bonus/promo scanner and a paid bet-tracker tool). This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What information we collect

• Technical/usage data - IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring URL, and approximate timestamps, collected automatically via server logs and (where you consent) analytics cookies.
• Cookie/consent data - your cookie preference choice and the date it was made.
• Tool input data - values you type into the Promo Scanner or Deposit/Withdraw Tracker (e.g. stake amounts, bookmaker names). These are processed in your browser / our server to return a result and are not linked to an identity unless you separately provide one.
• Purchase & licence data - if you buy a Bet Tracker activation key we store the email address you used at checkout, your marketing opt-in choice, your licence key, and the random device identifiers used to enforce the device limit. Payment is processed entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own pages - we never receive or store your card details. The bets you record in the tracker are stored only in your local tracker file and browser, never on our server. We collect nothing beyond what's needed to deliver and support the product, and personal data is never placed in URLs or query strings.
• Account/contact data - we do not require account registration.

How we collect it

• Automatically, via cookies and standard web server logs when you visit the site.
• Directly, when you enter data into a form or tool on the site.
• Via analytics and advertising cookies, but only after you give consent through our cookie banner.

Why we collect it

• To provide and operate the site's core functionality (odds scanning, tracker, session security).
• To understand how the site is used so we can fix issues and improve it (analytics, with consent).
• To display advertising that helps keep the tools free to use (advertising cookies, with consent).
• To deliver and support products you buy - emailing your activation key, verifying your licence, enforcing the device limit, and handling support and refund requests.
• To send occasional marketing emails, only if you expressly opted in at checkout (the opt-in box is unticked by default). Every marketing email identifies us as the sender and includes a working unsubscribe link; you can opt out at any time, including by emailing us.

Cookies

We use three categories of cookies, controlled by the consent banner shown on your first visit:

• Necessary - security and preference cookies required for the site to function (including the cookie that remembers your consent choice). These cannot be switched off.
• Analytics - help us measure traffic and usage patterns. Only set if you opt in.
• Advertising - used by Google AdSense to serve and measure ads. Only set if you opt in.

You can change your choice at any time using the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of the site. Your consent choice is stored in a cookie named btb_consent for up to 12 months.

Third parties we share data with

• Google AdSense - if you consent to advertising cookies, Google may set cookies to serve ads, including ads personalised based on your visits to this and other sites. Google may also use this data for its own purposes as described in Google's Ads Privacy & Terms. You can review or adjust your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
• Google Analytics (if enabled) - if you consent to analytics cookies, aggregated, de-identified usage data may be processed by Google Analytics to help us understand site usage.
• Stripe - if you buy a tracker activation key, checkout happens on Stripe's hosted payment page. Stripe collects your payment details and email under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/au/privacy); Stripe shares your email and consent choices with us so we can deliver your key. We never see your card number.
• Hosting provider - our hosting provider processes standard server logs (IP address, request data) as part of running the infrastructure that serves this site.
• Odds data providers - bookmaker odds shown on the site are sourced from a third-party odds API; no personal information is sent to that provider as part of a normal odds lookup.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Data storage & security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information we hold, including security headers, encrypted storage of sensitive configuration values, and hardened session cookies. Licence records (email, key, device identifiers) are kept in a store that is not reachable over the web, and we hold them only for as long as needed to support your purchase. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Access, correction & opt-out

You can decline non-essential cookies at any time via the cookie preference icon, or by using your browser's cookie/privacy controls. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we may hold about you, or to make a privacy complaint, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe in line with the APPs.

Children

Beat The Bookie is a tool intended for adults of legal betting/gambling age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
